Well here it is, this is what I’ve been developing for about 3 months. I give you our new weekly feature, Sasquatch and Sam. Sasquatch and Sam came about for a couple reasons. 1, I’m obsessed with BIGFOOT! I want to be a crypto-zoologist and if I ever win the loto, I’m quitting my job to go work for the BFRO (bigfoot field research organization), 2 Canned ham isn’t always “Kid Friendly” and I want to do a kid friendly strip without abandoning what i’ve already done and, 3 I sometimes need to draw something else.

I was super blown away by Scott Wright and his gustoff and ninja fish mini strip feature and it made me want to do one of my own. I had no Idea what to do, I really wanted to do something with a Cryptid (Bigfoot, Yeti or Chupacabra) and one day while searching Shakey Bigfoot footage on YOUtube I came across an opening for an old short lived Sid and Marty Croft show called Bigfoot and Wild Boy. It followed the adventures of this kid who was raised by a Bigfoot and together they fight crime. It was campy but it looked Great. It was then I was inspired to do a Bigfoot themed strip. My first Idea was called “Big Justice” it took place in a north western town where the sheriff was a Sasquatch, I couldn’t make it work. I had a few other Ideas but one day I was at my desk and I was doodling different Bigfoot ideas when I came up with my “Sasquatch” he was perfect to me and the one you see above is very close to the orig design. I then thought of Wild Boy, and wanted sasquatch to have a human buddy, but not in the side kick sense. Using the same kind of Idea, I thought up Sam. I think of their relationship like this: Sam was raised by Bigfoot, but SAM doesn’t act, think or even try to be a big foot. So Sasquatch has to “deal” with his annoying little boy tendancies, and thus you get COMIC GOLD!!!

These strips will never have dialogue. They will always be just pictures and sound effects. I really want to try my hand at “Physical Comedy” I may use a sign from time to time A La Wile E. Coyote but that will be the extent of it. I hope you enjoy these experiments and will look forward to the Sasquatch & Sam comics. We’ll update every Thursday.
